Goal One: Spiritual Transformation

Throughout the Bishop’s Commission on Mission Strategy process, Goal One — Spiritual Transformation — has been lifted up as a foundation from which our mission strategy can be built and can grow. The Task Team for Goal One has prepared the following report on its work to date, its hopes for the future, and how individuals and congregations can work with the team and with each other to help bring this transformation to pass. Its efforts are focused in three areas: Scripture-based spiritual practice, spiritual gifts discernment, and spiritual direction.

What Networks do you belong to?

One of the tasks of the Goal III team is to identify the networks that members of the diocese belong to either as individual members, or congregations. Please take the time to take the following survey. We will publish the results.

Getting involved — and getting the word out

The next phases of Mission Strategy work involve conversations at the regional and congregational levels, establishing a network of congregational contacts to share news and stories, and a series of in-depth feature articles.

Spirit and Energy at November 22 Meeting

Enthusiasm, accord, and cooperation characterized the all-teams MSN meeting on November 22 at St. David’s in Minnetonka. From the opening to the closing prayer and Gospel-Based Discipleship colloquies, the meeting was eager and productive.

Newly added documents

“What Are We Here For?: A Theological Position Paper on Mission,” first distributed in February 2007 as part of the first half of the Mission Strategy process, is now available here (181kB download). It describes the theological grounding of the process.

We’ve also posted the MSN budget (165kB download) as passed by Diocesan Council, in the interest of transparency.

Both documents are in PDF format.
